Rs 220 million were found in Navin Ramgoolam's safe
Ex-Mauritian prime minister and leader of the labour party will be quizzed this morning by police investigators over a money laundering charge.
Navin Ramgoolam has been charged of this offense by the director of public prosecution last week, in the wake of the discovery at his place of two domestic safes containing Rs 220 million in foreign currency.
The discovery was made in 2015 and the safes were brought to Line Barracks, police and Criminal Investigation Department’s headquarters. The safes were opened before the state television’s camera.
